Proficiency

Each year all SLSA members must complete a proficiency before the 31st of December.
Membership fees must be paid before attending your proficiencies.

Please contact the club for proficiency dates.

You must do a proficiency if you hold the following:

  • SRC, Bronze, ROC, Operational First Aid, ARC or Defib. and do patrols
  • ROC or Resuscitation Award
  • Observers Certificate, you will need to complete just the paperwork

POOL SWIM

Pool swim required for SRC (200m in 5 min or less) or Bronze (400m in 9 mins or less). Please complete your swim before you come to your proficiency, YOU MUST use the Pool Swim Form in FORMS (on our website) and hand it to the Chief Training Officer at your proficiency.

THEORY

This year the Bronze Proficiency Paper can be completed online.  Click on the link http://www.lifesaving.com.au/default.asp?contentID=898 and follow the instructions. Please refer to the 2011-2012 Lifesaving Proficiency Bulletin (below), SLSA Public Safety Training Manual 33rd Edition (Blue Book), SLSA/ SLSQ First Aid Manual,  SLSQ Powercraft Manual – Version 7-2.
