Become a lifesaver, help on or off the sand, up skill or just want to help out at Nippers. This page will help guide you on the best path.
To be eligible for any course you must be an active member, hold a blue card and have an USI number. We offer in-house training, collaborative training with other clubs and Branch training via SLS Sunshine Coast.

ENROLLMENT

  • To become an active member of KWSLSC and be eligible to enroll in any course you must

    If you already have a Blue Card or a USI, please email the Surf Office with your details and they can link the information to your new membership.

  • Enrolment for all courses is now online. Log into your Members Area account and go into eLearning and then to Course List to find the course you want to enrol in.

    For both new and existing members - before enrollment, please see the minimum membership requirements information below.

  • Before you enrol into a course, make sure your membership and bluecard is current and you have all the green ticks needed in your members portal.  If you are having trouble - our membership guide will help you.

    Unique Student Identifier (USI)

    To enrol into any course, you will also need your Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. A USI is an individual education number that's assigned to you for life by the Australian Government. It's free and will take about 5 minutes to complete the process - you will need at least one form of valid identification. For current high-school students you will also need your Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) if relevant for QCE points.

  • On your completion of your bronze and SRC course you will receive a full patrol uniform. Use online shop for replacements uniform and non-mandatory patrol gear.

    Hi-Vis singlet in mandatory for training.

  • Bronze Medallion

    Core lifesaving award in Australia. It qualifies you to be a patrolling surf lifesaver and water safety at Nippers. REGISTER YOUR INTEREST

  • Surf Rescue Certificate

    Is the entry-level lifesaving qualification offered by SLSA. It allows you to assist with water safety at Nippers & support patrols under supervision. REGISTER YOUR INTEREST

  • IRB Crew Certificate

    SLSA qualification that trains members to operate as crew in an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB).
